Before 2006, Komarna’s rugged terrain remained untouched by commercial agriculture. Its rocky limestone slopes lay exposed only to Dalmatia’s relentless sun, the salt-laden breeze, and the rhythm of the sea.
Where others saw barren, inhospitable land, we saw the perfect foundation for organic viticulture – a true virgin soil rich with potential.
Inspired by five generations of winemaking and a vision for the future, we led an ambitious reclamation, transforming Komarna into a new frontier for Croatian viticulture.
Today, the winery cultivates 23 hectares of vineyards and 1,300 olive trees, championing indigenous Dalmatian grape and olive varieties.
What was once wild, windswept land is now Croatia’s first fully organic wine region – a vision realized through dedication, innovation, and collaboration.
In 2013, Komarna was officially recognized as an appellation, marking a new chapter
in Dalmatian winemaking.
